From a young age, I learned I crave order. I remember moving down to the basement at my house at maybe age 12, and getting to create a bedroom out of an old storage room downstairs. Placing my things where I wanted them and reworking things that didn't flow just came natural. I could work for hours transforming the basement of my childhood and be happy as a hummingbird at a feeder with a perch.
As I got older I moved a lot. A dorm here, a townhouse there, a condo, a few houses, an RV, and no matter where I have been, I have always enjoyed the set up and take down process. But my veeerryy favorite thing to do, after being in a place for a while, is to Restore the Order of the space. I looooovveee to meticulously go around a room and see what is working and what isn't. I delight in lightening a space and finding new uses for overlooked items with in the space. To organize the linen closet makes my heart glow and feel warm inside. When the silverware is completely back in its space, and its holder is clean, I am giddy. Tidy order brings cheer to my spirit. Going through and getting rid of things that no longer serve me, but that I know someone else might like, thrills me to no end. I sail on a rainbow cloud of pure happiness when I complete restoring the order to my space. It's true. Its like my favorite time of year. And now I get to do it at others peoples houses. Yay Me!
I have read time and time again how your outer space often reflects your inner space and I have to say I am a believer. When you are surrounded, and care for the things around you, you feel joy upon just walking in your door. When you don't have systems in place to catch the life that occurs around you, then you end up with a laundry list of things do to both physical and emotional. The space becomes a place of unfinished things to do and the energy of your space and yourself is brought down. When you Retore the Order to your space, not only are you left with a great space to live in, you feel more alive, energetic and allergy free because everything is in its place and you dusted! Winning!
So if you need to Restore the Order I'd love to come help you Lighten Up!
